General FAQs
1. Is physiotherapy just for athletes?
Not at all! We strive to help anyone, regardless of age or fitness level.
Our physiotherapists are trained to comprehensively treat any sports, musculoskeletal, orthopaedic or workplace injury that you may have. Our goal is to help you live a healthy and active lifestyle.
We apply our high standard of physiotherapy care and individualise our treatments to each client.
2. Can I use private health insurance?
Yes.
If you have physiotherapy as part of your extras in your private health policy you will be able to make a claim.
We can process your claim on the spot at your appointment, so you will only be required to pay the remainder of the fee.
You can check with your provider how much will be covered.
3. Do I need a GP referral?
No.
You can simply book an appointment and come in for physiotherapy treatment whenever you like.
4. Do you see WorkCover patients?
Yes.
Getting you back to work safely is a similar process to getting others back on the field. Our highly trained physiotherapists are experts in rehabilitation for any injury. You will need a current WorkCover certificate.
Standard fees are payable at the time of your appointment and you can claim back your rebate from WorkCover.

5. Do you take Medicare or Chronic Disease Management referrals from the GP
Yes we do.
You can receive a Medicare rebate for up to 5 physiotherapy sessions provided under your Team Care Arrangement from your GP.
We communicate with your GP throughout your recovery to ensure your health team understand your progress.

6. Where are you located?
We are located at 92 Coolibah Street, Bardon (inside the Goodlife Health Club). We have ample parking onsite & our clinic is wheelchair accessible.
7. What do I need to bring?
You can bring any documents or information about your injury that you have been provided from your surgeon or GP including referrals and radiology reports.
You should also have comfortable clothing that will allow us to examine your injury. For example, wearing shorts when your physiotherapist will be assessing an injury to your knee or ankle.
8. Do you offer free parking on-site?
Yes! We have plenty on free parking onsite.
9. Cancellation Policy
As a small business we thank you for valuing our time in the same way we value yours.
We require at least 24 hours notice for any cancellations to your appointment. This policy allows us time to offer your appointment to someone else who may need it, as well as to cover our costs if you are unable to attend at short notice.
You will receive an automated reminder texts 24 hours prior to your appointment. If you are feeling unwell, or need to change your appointment please contact us on +07 3543 5658 +as soon as possible to reschedule.
Our standard late cancellation / change fees* are as follows:
- 50% of the cost of the appointment for sessions cancelled / rescheduled with less than 12 hours notice.
- 100% of the cost for sessions cancelled / rescheduled with less than 2 hours notice.
** *This applies to all clients including Worker's Comp, NDIS & Medicare. If your funding body does not cover late cancellation fees please be aware that you will be responsible for paying them privately. You are unable to claim cancellation fees on private health.
Emergencies and illness
We understand that emergencies and on the day illness happens. In these instances, we ask you contact us as early as possible via text or phone call.
We may waive fees at our discretion if we are able to reschedule you within 24 hours, or as soon as reasonable with emergencies and illness. If you choose to cancel, either immediately or the future rescheduled appointment, the initial cancellation fee according to our policy will be charged.
Our own commitment to this policy
In the same way if there is illness or an emergency on our side and your therapist needs to reschedule, we will offer the same courtesy and let you know as soon as possible. We will also aim to offer you an appointment with another one of our Physio team within 24 (workday) hours of your appointment.
Physiotherapy and Sports Physiotherapy FAQs
1. Do I need a GP referral?
Physiotherapists are trained to be first contact practitioners which means when you have hurt your neck, back or sprained your ankle you can book an appointment with PURE Physiotherapy & Pilates for assessment.
2. Can I use private health insurance?
Yes.
If you have physiotherapy as part of your extras in your private health policy you will be able to make a claim.
We can process your claim on the spot at your appointment, so you will only be required to pay the remainder of the fee.
You can check with your provider how much will be covered.
3. What can I expect from my first appointment?
Your physiotherapy appointment will involve some key components;
Discussion about your presenting issue and some questions that aid in diagnosis and treatment planning
A thorough physical examination of structures and movement
Demonstration of your home exercise program
Advice and education about your presenting issue
4. What should I bring to my appointment?

Dance Physiotherapy FAQs
1. What should I wear?
It is best to wear close-fitting clothing that you can move well in. Your ballet or dance attire is perfectly suitable for this assessment such that the physiotherapist can perform an accurate assessment.
2. When will I get the results of my assessment?
The physiotherapist will let you know at your assessment if you are ready to start pointe work. To ensure the most enjoyable and safest transition to dancing en pointe there are often home exercises that will be prescribed.
These exercises will look at improving areas of mobility, stability and strength that the physiotherapist may have noted needs attention through the assessment.

Sports and Remedial Massage FAQs
1. Do I need a GP referral?
No, anyone can simply book an appointment and come in for a remedial or sports massage.
2. Can I use private health insurance?
Yes!
If you have Massage coverage as part of your extras in your private health policy you will be able to make a claim.
We can process your claim on the spot at your appointment, so you will only be required to pay the remainder of the fee. You can check with your provider how much will be covered.
3. What can I expect from my first appointment?
Your massage will involve a brief discussion about the desired outcome from your treatment.
Your massage therapy may involve the use of various massage techniques.
Our therapists can also provide techniques such as cupping and dry needling.
Reformer Pilates FAQs
1. Do I need a GP referral?
No, anyone can simply book an appointment and come in for our clinical pilates.
2. Can I use private health insurance?
Yes!
Our physiotherapist led Reformer Rehab Pilates Class is claimable on your private health if you attended an Initial Appointment for assessment (HICAPS code 500).
These sessions will come under your physiotherapy allowance.
3. What if I have never done pilates?
Our one-on-one Pilates sessions allow you to progress at a pace that suits you. We will develop a program specifically for your needs and ability, ensuring you get the attention you deserve.
Workcover FAQs
1. Do I need a doctor's referral?
Firstly, to complete your claim and receive WorkCover Queensland benefits you will need to lodge your claim through a GP. For the other providers listed above consult your workplace manager.
2. What should I bring?
Please bring any communication from your GP (medical certificate etc) and your WorkCover claim number if applicable.
3. Who pays for my treatment under WorkCover?
If you have the appropriate paperwork and and active case, we invoice WorkCover directly. You may need to make payment at the time of your appointment if your case is not yet active, and claim reimbursement from WorkCover when your case is approved.

DVA and Medicare FAQs
1. Do I need a doctor's referral?
Yes. To access the benefits from both DVA and Medicare you will need a referral. Please review the websites or contact your GP for more information.
2. What should I bring?
For your first DVA physiotherapy appointment we will require your eligible DVA card and a physiotherapy referral.
For the Chronic Disease Management plan please bring any referrals or paperwork from your GP.
3. Who pays for my treatment under DVA or Medicare?
Medicare payments are processed onsite. You will be required to pay the gap between the Medicare rebate and our standard fees.
DVA sessions are processed in clinic directly through the DVA portal - no gap payment required.
